Bye Bye Bazza

Seems just the other day there were 11 days to go ’till my sister (Dal) and her husband (Rum) emigrated to Australia. Time flew by and before I knew it, I was dropping her off at the airport yesterday morning. I don’t think it’s quite sunk in yet and although I’m beginning to miss her already, I know I’ll be sure to visit her later this year and I’m looking forward to it already.

I’m really happy for you both and I know you’ll settle in just fine. To show my thanks and appreciation, I’ve written a little message for you both which you can read after the jump.

To Rum,
When younger I always worried about the guy that Dal would end up with. From the moment Dal told me about you I knew that she’d found the guy she wanted to be with forever. Having met you, I can’t for the life of me see why! I kid, I kid. I’m always grateful that you found one another, the two of you really are two peas in a pod and I know you’ll always be together and that you’ll always be looking after her.

Now that you’re gone, whoever will I discuss new gadgets with!? You’d better stick close to your e-mail as I don’t want you buying new toys without me knowing about it!

To Dal,
Thank you for being the best sister, ever. All of my best childhood memories revolve around all the sweet things you did for me. From staying up late at night when I had nightmares to being the only one who remembered and celebrated my birthday each year, you were always there for me and I’ll be forever grateful for the relationship we have. When I’m older with children of my own, my only wish for them would be that they share a relationship even half as good as ours.

The world is your oyster now, don’t look back and enjoy each day in your new home. Keep a guest room free for me cause I’ll be wanting to visit you at every opportunity! You’ll always be my big sister, my best friend and my guardian angel. Thank you.
