A long time ago, on a holiday Hvar Hvar away…

HvarI’m back! Been away for a week with friends on the beautiful island of Hvar, Croatia.

My whole holiday was almost cancelled when I managed to get food poisoning just a few days before I left! No more dodgey barbecues for me. I felt awful the night I was scheduled to leave but at the last minute I thought what the heck, I’m going.

I won’t say too much here as I’m going to make a nice photo album on my Flickr that’ll tell the story better than I ever could. :)
View the photos as a slideshow here or view them individually here.

Three Lions still marching on!

Crouch and Gerrard, England Saviours! Some might say poor performance, but you have to put things into perspective. We are England, we’re crap at everything.
We don’t have much skill, we don’t have much flair. But we have a bit of grit, a bit of determination and that sometimes makes the difference.

When Man U were 1-0 down in the champions league final, they played awful. Worst performance ever, but you know, that’s to be expected, they’re an English team. We are after all crap at everything. Just don’t rule out that they’ll bang two in during stoppage time. :)
When Liverpool were 3-0 down in the champions league final, they played awful. Worst performance ever, but hey, they are an English team after all. Just don’t rule out Gerrard inspiring them to go on and win it.

We can’t help but play crap at times. England have never ever gone to a tournament and out played everyone, that’s not even feasible. Heck, we even play worse against the lesser teams. We need to come up against the likes of Argentina or Germany to really get us kick started.

Yes we’re looking average at times, but we’re getting the points the only way we know how.
We’re through to the next round. Rooney is back. Crouch is still scoring. Beckham is still planting the ball on Crouch’s head. Gerrard is banging them in. Joe Cole is taking them on. Lennon is on fire. Terry is clearing it off the line.

We’re not pretty, but we’re still here and we still believe!

England off to a winning start!

Becks and the teamIt’s been a great opening to the World Cup! Two days gone and already a host of good matches and some great goals!

England got underway in great form today against Paraguay…for the first 45 minutes. We were great in the first half, Joe Cole particularly lookened likely to threaten on every attack.
We could have had a few goals but went in at half time only 1-0 up.

The second half was lacklustre to say the least, I’ll put it down to the heat, it was a scorching day and the players must have felt it. Our key players, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole and Beckham were all subdued during the second half and England were just defending in numbers for large periods.

However! We came away with the 3 points, and that’s what really counts. With Sweden drawing against Trinidad & Tobago, we’re now in prime position to make it through the group stage.

Come on England!

World Cup 2006 - It’s almost time!

World Cup 2006The World Cup, the World’s greatest sporting event is less than a week away!

Could I be anymore excited? I think not! :D

There are so many great teams involved, it’s near impossible to pick out a winner, it really could go to any team this time around!
Brazil are surely favourites, and looking as strong as ever, but it’s never that straightforward. It’s football, anything can happen.

I’ve got a little sweepstake going on at home, my mom, dad and I have each chosen a team. We’ve put in £10 each, and the person who’s team goes furthest gets to keep all the money hehe. Dad went with Brazil (grrr), Mom took Germany and I of course went with England. Come on Rooney, don’t let me down! :P

Processor Wars: Intel Strikes Back!

Intel Core 2 DuoIntel’s new desktop processor; Core 2, codenamed Conroe is almost upon us, and this time around, we should certainly take note.

With AMD reigning supreme in the performance stakes for the past few years, it was merely a matter of time before Intel presented something to make us all give an ooooh and an aaaah.

That time is now, and that something is Intel Core 2.

I’ve got a new phone!

Picked up the Nokia N80 yesterday, and have had a lot of fun playing with it so far. :)

I’ve upgraded to this from my previous phone, a Sony Ericsson W800i. Although the W800i was a very cool looking phone, it wasn’t much more than that.

The N80 on the other hand does just about everything other than cook my breakfast for me!
