Nintendo’s E3 Press Conference

Nintendo WiiNintendo didn’t do just a press conference this morning in LA, they put on a show, and what a show it was. It began with an orchestra, of the animated kind. The composer dictating with nothing less than the Wii remote, naturally.

After the magnificent introduction, Nintendo went about outlining their plans for the future of gaming as they see it. Nintendo tell us, quite simply, that they want more people to game. Wii isn’t just about you and I, it’s not about him, or her, it’s about us and…Wii.

Sony’s E3 Press Conference

Playstation 3

I watched Sony’s Press Conference at E3 last night, and I watched with a lot of anticipation. For a long while now, the PS3 has been talked about as the machine of all machines.
After so much hype, one couldn’t help but feel a little underwhelmed over what they had to show.

The show did begin with some positives, Sony had a look back at their console history and pledged a lot of support for the PS2 and PSP for years to come. That’s always great for gamers to hear, and full backward compatability from PS3 to PS2 is a great bonus!

Alton Towers

Alton Towers

I totally forgot to post about this! I went to Alton Towers the Monday before last (April 24th), with Dal (my sister) and Rum (my brother in law).

I try to go to Alton Towers at least once a year, it’s one of my favourite places in the UK! The last time I went with Dal and Rum, it didn’t turn out so well for Rummy. Poor guy had been having a few drinks the night prior, and after going on Ripsaw, he was pretty much done for the day lol!

Alas, this time all three of us made it through the whole day. We got to the park about 10am, after getting slightly lost - well done Dal, great navigating as always! :)

Anyhow, enough of our trio’s adventures, let’s get onto the rides…

Time to give my PC a rebuild

I ordered myself a copy of Windows XP Media Center Edition, and it’s due to arrive in the post today. :)

It’s been a long long time since I last reformated my PC, but I think it really could do with one.
It’ll take me a few hours to backup everything, and a few hours to get over the few items that I forgot about hehe.

All going well, I’ll be back online shortly. Worst case scenario, my PC will go into meltdown, and you’ll only ever hear of me through rumours. I’ll become a myth!

  • I’m a huge Superman fan, and I’ve been looking forward to Superman Returns for a long long time now! When I first saw the Teaser Trailer it totally blew me away. The Brando dialogue, coupled with the Williams score was enough to leave any Superman fan giggling with excitement, and I was no exception!

This second trailer however didn’t quite have the same impact. It seems more comical, and less sinister than the teaser trailer. However, after watching it a few times, I am begining to warm to it. I still can’t wait for Superman to return! :)

    Music to get you going!

Was at the Gym again this evening, and my personal trainer has added a few excercises to my plan for me. Like it’s not tough enough already!

Hence, I thought I’d take some motivation with me today, in the form of a walkman.

It worked pretty well throughout, and then triumphed on my last excercise…the dreaded run!

So, I’m on the treadmill, I’ve got 5 minutes left, and I’m completely exhausted. I’m contemplating slowing it down, or better yet, turning it off! This is the bit where Led Zeppelin get involved. The treadmill is setup to automatically adjust the pace, it alternates between a fast walk and a run. I’m listening to ‘Stairway in Heaven’ and 4 minutes fly by.

The very last minute is a run, and I am so so tired. Then this inspired piece of music begins (click play to have a little listen):

What do I do? I crank up the speed and run like the wind for that last minute!

I think I’ll be taking my walkman with me more often. :)

The first series was a great start, and really enjoyable (most of the time). As is usually the case here in the UK, we’ve had to wait that little bit longer for Series 2.

Lost Series 2 is premiered, on Channel 4, on 2nd May at 10pm! Don’t forget!
